I know there was a stock double contest at one time on this thread. Out of curiosity, where does the contest stand?

What stocks do those on this thread think will have the best chance of doubling from now to the end of the year?

Feeling good for the fall.

Morning Tom and Porch...Question

I have found what I think is a good reason to buy back CC's instead of having them called away. About 6 months ago I sold CC's on several stocks that I had huge short term cap gains on and wanted to go out at least 6 months to get to long term cap status. One of these stocks is NTAP.

I(We) sold the Sept 80's and got around 14 premium. Since then as you know, NTAP has done very well. The premium today is 30+. Now, if I let the stock be called at 80 I will have a 20% tax staring me in the face. If I buy the call back, I now have a loss which I can use to defray the gains I will make selling a couple of other stocks and I keep my NTAP. To me this sounds like an alternative to consider. Am I missing something here?

Thanks,
Joel
