Nah. I don't believe this is true. I have an IRA at e-Dreyfus, and they most certainly allow long puts and calls in that account. I trade that way all the time. IRA's are always cash-only, of course.

Michael, thanks.

Understand about purchased puts in the margin acct., however
out of 5 different puts that were purchased - 3 were in the
margin acct. and 2 were in the cash acct. Guess they decided to use some of my cash, eh??

Tried for some SANM Jan/60's puts but they didn't like my low-ball offer <G> Opinions?
