My guess is that the hedge funds some of the money managers have are performing squeezes everywhere. Meanwhile the stocks they're really interested in they let slide. The selling in MU is totally artificial. It's too well coordinated to be the real thing - more like lowering the buy prices and drawing some reluctant shorts. It's a plan for an October disaster.
