the breakup of the Soviet Empire relatively peaceful,
Senior-George's biggest failing was to take an isolationist policy while all the countries who had been caught in the Cold War divisions of East/West struggled to adapt to the breakup of the Soviet Empire. The "relative peace" was pretty harsh in those countries.

it was a brilliant piece of advanced "Intelligence" that forwarned us that Sadam really wasn't going to invade Kuwait...but we really got rolling once he did just that.<ggg>

As for the peaceful break-up of the "Soviet Empire"...

ah think you do the man far too much credit...the Soviet people had something to do with that....
