I still remember the second oil crisis when I think about stoopit things I did when I was a kid. -g- Had some land with great fishing about 350 miles away and there was no way you could count on getting enough fuel to do the round trip - the gas stations would just close up shop for days on end when they ran out. Or only sell you 10 gallons if they had gas.

So my brother and I would fill up his Ford Maverick, which got a lot better gas mileage than my truck at 10mpg, and put 8 five gallon jerry cans of gas in the trunk! If we had ever got rear ended we would have lit up the sky like an A-bomb. -g-

Doubt it will get that bad this time around, though.
