"There were just 20,000 servers in operation in 1995; there are over 6 million today, linked to some 200 million PC-class units"

If Intel is right and these represent only 4% of the servers by 2005, industry needs 15 million severs in total. That means an additional 9 million servers in the next five years. If on top of growth, 33% of the servers are upgraded each year, that would mean an additional 16 million servers, for a total of 25 million.

If their figure of 1 billion connected PC/PC appliances by 2005 is correct PC/PC appliance sales will be increase by a factor of at least 5 by 2005, not including replacement.

Pretty impressive, if my math is right.
