John, that "publicly stated" that you refer to was, I believe, an opinion in the bullish Taipan article that was quoted in full on the Raging Bull site, links shown here from Sector. From memory only, have not checked. Many of the high tech IPOs that have come out this year seem to come anywhere from 6 weeks to over 3 months from the filing date. Also, given that September is historically a lousy month for equities, my swag when LUMN filed in late July was that somewhere between 10/5/00 and 10/20/00 was the most likely period for the actual issue to come.
