GST, good to see you in fine form again. Since WH, Mark F, and other new econ fans are posting here again, we don't get much of the doom and gloom stuff any more. Especially since KIS seems to have moved on to greener pastures.

Anyway, re oil price. You might be right. But in the perverse way these things work, the rise in oil price might initially be seen as a restraint on the hand of the FED. As you saw, the bank stocks had a great day. I will just gloat a little and say my acct had a good gain today, even though more than half is in the tech group that was smacked.

If in fact the tech drop was due to oil, then how to explain the rise in auto stocks, machinery and financials ?

This market is always a great riddle, at least to me.

Good to have you back.

Sarmad

Can't this increase in price of oil be offset by decreasing interest rates half a dozen times?
