Hi NightOwl; I really haven't seen a lot of multichip modules (MCMs) in DSPs &c., at least yet. Where they are big is in cellular phones, I think.

As far as OC-XX, I hope someone else will explain all that. From what I understand, the "XX" is proportional to the bandwidth in some way. Each product would be different, some would "route", some would "hub", others would "switch" and some would just sit there and make engineers drop their jaw when they see how expensive a cubic foot of cheap looking electronics can get.
