Democracy is all about constituents wishes. The system has allowed for quite a few people to be left behind and these constituents are looking up to democratic party who seems to have appropriate programs for them. Republican party is still stuck in an era where Guns/abortion/God/ are more important than equality and justice. (atleast that's how others perceive this way). The day Republican party breaks from the yoke of right wingers, that day it will be an ideal party. Currently the party's agenda seems to be driven by the Right.
