non-polarizability of the crystal in the [1100] direction So this component of static field sounds like a junction alignment problem wrt certain crystal directions. It would be interesting to grow vanilla junctions on their M-plane GaN and see how they perform. Methinks there are a number of inefficiencies that dwarf the static fields problems. Of course the static fields problems couldn't be cured with process improvements.... Re: dilithium and transparent aluminum LOL, of course when you turned the LED on it would stretch and disappear into a blink of light <g>. JF
