OLDTRADER, RE: analyst compensation Back in my days on the sell side (the 80's), most analysts on the Street received 50% of their bonus based upon how much commission revenue they could generate and 50% based upon the performance of their recommendations. Nowadays I don't have as clear a handle on the compensation issue, but my understanding is that it is about 50% banking fees generated, 30% commission revenue generated, and 20% recommendation performance.
