It's not a matter of everyone selling; it's a matter of whether enough people follow those principles. With astrology and menstrual cycles and all the other BS theories out there, I think the answer is that there are not enough people out there following them to matter. But the point is, there could be, so you can't discount it just because the underlying theory is bunk. For awhile people bought dot-com stocks out of an almost spiritual faith in the future of the Internet. Eventually the faith subsided, but in the meantime you could have made a lot of money exploiting it.

If Carpino gets enough of a following, his picks could become self-fulfilling prophecies. Kind of like Abby Joseph Cohen or (for awhile) Henry Blodgett.
