Yes, indeed. Nothing like being mildly foresighted (g)

Behind the scenes, I am seeing some early indications that the reality of PC "nuclear winter" is finally starting to ooze even into the insulated minds of the N.Y. analysts. Making things worse, we are going to have a very interesting "warnings" period this quarter. For the first time, the rascals in the executive suites will not be able to call their favourite analysts up and get "the numbers" hauled down to where the actuals will come in (courtesy of the SEC). Because of this, I expect the impact of warnings to be higher than normal this time around, as the analysts will not have had a chance to massage the expectations as much. As noted earlier, I also expect the warnings to be much nastier than is the general expectation.

What really also adds to my enthusiasm is the fact that there is no cushion beneath this market, as most of the bears have been decimated or have chosen to vacate the field before becoming extinct. With a ton of stock coming off "escrow" and with a large IPO calendar, I suspect that there will just not be enough money in the system to keep stock prices at current lofty peaks. We shall see.

Best, Earlie
