Mephisto, here's my favorite reason for the tech wreck the last 2 days, by Jim McMannis: I'm sorry but I just can't see earnings being anything but stellar...from AMD and Intel... These Kramers on Wall Street just came back from their vacations in the Hamptons. When they saw the NASDAQ had made a nice run they just HAD to trash the market in order to get their select clients and companies a better deal... and they made a nice profit to boot... Its a scary thing. So an analyst shooting from the lip can bring down tech 5% in 2 days--amazing. I could live with it if what was said has some validity but the Joseph thing brought AMAT into the 60's and he certainly has already been discredited. Where is the SEC? And again we come back to the possibility that the analyst is somehow aiding the firms clients to the detriment of the rest of us--the Yahoo threaders favorite argument. I hate to admit it but sometimes i buy in.
