Kurlak? I read about him that he didn't do many bricks and mortar visitations to Silicon Valley. Maybe a "seat of the pants" kind of guy. Shiny pants?

Now that is pretty funny. And scarry - if the big guy can not prepare his/her own spreadsheet then it is delegated down the line. Naturally, stuff gets lost in the delegation process and when the results come back, Mr. Big does not have the time or understanding to evaluate the model, and it takes on a life of its own.

As was just mentioned, making a name for one's self is a big goal of most analysts. One very right call - even if it is just dumb luck - can launch a career for years.
