Tonight the Almighty smiled on me, although perhaps with a little help. Yesterday Chris saw an article in the Post about Peter Green and John Mayall playing a local venue, and I called immediately, but they were sold out. So we decided to go to the theater an hour and a half early today and see if we could get tickets from a scalper. There were several people already there with the same idea, and a line already forming of hard-core fans because it was general admission. We waited around for a while, it felt like half an hour to me but Chris says it was only 10 minutes, and the line was maybe 40 people long, and I decided to try offering people money for their tickets. I offered a ridiculous amount of money that I am even ashamed to admit ($100 a ticket), but the amazing thing was that the first 40 or so people declined it. One guy had driven all the way from New York to see the show. Another guy said, "what!?!? and miss the chance to see the greatest blues guitarist of all time?" (He meant Peter Green, the hard core was there for Peter Green, not John Mayall.)

But finally a couple came up, and the man looked stunned at the offer, and was saying "wow, if you want to see the show that bad you want it more than I do, and you deserve to see it" and his girlfriend was saying, "but, don't you want to see the show?" and he was saying "but it's $200!" I am not sure whether it was just the money or whether he was also being nice, I think it was both. We completed the transaction with smiles on all faces. So we had very good seats, way at the front.

A lot of other people were looking for tickets, and I saw all of them inside later, everyone got tickets, but they were up in the balcony. So I'd do it again.

It was a very good show. Peter Green did Green Manalishi, which was something I was dreaming of but did not dare to even hope for.

This part I found amusing - Nigel Watson, one of the guitarists, has quite a belly, and said, "ladies, why settle for a six pack when you can have a barrel?"

Men In Tocques. I gotta tell you, I think Chef Folse is kinda hot. Like the guy said, why settle for a six-pack when you can have a barrel? I wonder how tall he is? (Got to be taller than 6 ft. to really punch my buttons.)
