Maybe. Maybe not. Investors never cease to surprise me.

I think the crack in the dam started with the one time charge for the debt reduction causing the total loss for the quarter to rise to $3.84. Then Lucent screwed up by trying to unload the debt instruments at a discount. (What in the world were they thinking?) Then the Barron's article pretty much put the last nail in the coffin.

Perception is everything in the market. Once the fund managers saw Lucent lose confidence, the stampeed was on. There's probably not a lot that WCII can do right now. Anything they do will be seen as a negative.

Time will tell.
