Jeff, You have expressed yourself very clearly. IMO, you are correct in saying we should continue to be prepared to go with the flow. I've had the same experience as you recently. I've also hesitated on trades only to watch for a dip that never came or found myself trading with bad timing and taking a loss. Finally I woke up. My favorite new word is 'skittish' and my trading has turned around a bit. I respect what the market is telling me every moment and I watch the comp and other indices very closely. I do not think the bottoms are in at this time (I hope I'm wrong and I don't often use the word 'hope') so I'm prepared to react at any time, either up or down. Trying to get better too! Magic
