Ian,

Having listened to the conference call, I guess I may not agree with some of your conclusions - then again, I have a bad case of jet lag.

"Sounds like the transition to momentum is taking more time and resources than expected."

Not exactly what I recall hearing - sleep deprived here or otherwise. Modifications to their 776 orders incorporating some of the features to Momentum caused the hiccup in part. Also note the SAB-101 caused change in revenue recognition of Momentum sales. Oh, and the Obara buyout (part of write off) eliminates that JV mess that has been hanging over their head for a bit too long.

The positive feedback SFAM is getting, per Faubert's comments, re Momentum including the two wins from competitors in this regard, will likely lead IMHO to some sort of bullish run towards the second half of their fiscal (beginng anywhere from Decemeber to May). This assumes execution of course.

Having no crystal ball, my guess is SFAM will drop this morning, bounce a little, and hover in the $9-12/sh range for a bit. Having said that, they will be making two publicized presentations next week (9/11 and 9/13) so if Faubert comes across as credible (as he does to me - perhaps not you?), we may see a little institutional buying towards the end of next week.

"Jay Deahna mentioned that Bagley thinks he's going to capture 20% market share this year; Faubert hasn't seen any evidence to support that ambition."

Faubert's response I think was closer to "you'd have to ask Jim Bagley on that."

Interesting question regarding their cash position, repurcahse of their stock and whether they might now be an acquisiton target. They want to use their $100M+ reserve to
insure downcycle survival, as well as get more sample tools out there.

"We could see more disappointments ahead."

Is this a result of a lack of confidence in Faubert, SFAM, etc.? Yes, this was disappointing news....but if you have faith in management, they will recover. If not, your were right to unload.

Comments and criticisms, as always, are welcome.

Just my jet lagged spin....SemiBull
