You provided a nice overview of why Lexar is in a rather desperate position

Sandisk's intellectual property has been upheld in court against Samsung and has passed the scrutiny of 800 pound gorillas such as Intel, Toshiba and others prior to obtaining licensing agreements. Where was Lexar when all this was happening?

Sometimes things are exactly as they appear and this appears to be an act of desperation on the part of Lexar. It tells me that their attempts to engineer around Sandisk may not be going as well as they have suggested. This move buys more time and nothing else. The sad part in this case is that I sincerely doubt Lexar will have sufficient remaining assets for Sandisk to be made whole.

Just sounding off.
