Rovers all over Africa and the Middle East, too. They are made crude and simple, so they don't break, e.g., steering system is worm and roller, engine is basic overhead valve patterned after an early 1960's Buick, body is aircraft aluminum over a steel frame so it won't rust, live-coil suspension. Permanent four-wheel drive, w/low gear and diff lock. Also four wheel disk brakes and ABS on these new ones.

Plus they are just a lot of fun to drive. I love my Rover. I was going to get an Explorer, but nobody that drives an Explorer loves their Explorer.
