Ah, momentum....The fact is that Gore is the representative of an administration that is widely perceived as successful. It should have been "his to lose". Instead, it is viewed as Bush's race "to lose". That weakness continues to dog him. If you look at the Post article, there are two sides to the gender gap: men think that Bush is more competent on most issues, just as Gore is favored by women on most issues. But the most important thing is that over 2/3rds would be content with either guy! It will remain a close race, and we have yet to see who will break out, if either. We won't know who has "momentum" until next month.........
