Bought Yhoo this morning at 101 1/8; but not many shares. I will buy a few more later today if it goes there again. Betting a 110/115 Sept-option-expiry. Your thoughts? Thanks.

Test Filters PHS Interference on IMT-2000

Source: September 2000 Issue, Nikkei Electronics Asia

KDD Corp has developed a test system to prevent interference by
Personal Handyphone System (PHS) cell phones on the International
Mobile Telecommunications (IMT) 2000 third-generation phone system.

Demonstration trials are now underway. The test consists of an IMT-2000
base station installed near a PHS base station, using superconducting
filters from Conductus Ltd to replace dielectric filters for the
IMT-2000 test station.

Measurements made with a mobile terminal moving near the base station
showed the new filters delivered about a 30dB reduction in direct
interference from PHS and interfering waves due to receiver amp
nonlinearity.

IMT-2000-compliant service, scheduled to start in May 2001, will have a
5MHz guard band (unused frequency band) between the wavebands used
by PHS and IMT-2000 specifically to minimize interference. The new
technology is designed to minimize interference from PHS base stations
on IMT-2000 base stations. Other cited problems are the effect of PHS
terminals on IMT-2000 base stations, the effect of IMT-2000 terminals on
PHS base stations and the effect of IMT-2000 terminals on PHS terminals.

If these problems can be overcome, the guard band will be unnecessary
and system capacity will rise accordingly.

Just FYI...I noticed that SCON and CDTS are involved with several presentations at different conferences in the next couple of weeks. SCON will be presenting at the First Security Van Kasper Conference in S.F. next week. SCON and CDTS will also be involved with a "2000 CDMA Conference" on September 25-26.

I was away from the computer today....so I didn't "see" the market day today. (probably a "good thing" as Martha Stewart would say! LOL!)
