NEW YORK (NewsCheck) -- Chip stocks tumbled Friday, some for no apparent reason, after a profit warning from National Discount Brokers undermined confidence in the sector.

Investors PANICED and fled semiconductor shares, which are among the most widely held technology issues and the most easily sold. Some chips slumped amid persistent BS and poor reporting by news groups. Frito-Lay said they dipped because they just happened to be in the chip business. Granny Goose said it was Ruffled too. Idaho said it's potato crops could be plowed under unless the chip market recovers. The tingle even hit Pringle. Corn farmer were worried Corn Chips could loose value, and in Vegas...the Casinos voiced concern. "Hey...we're in the chip business too" said a Casino employee "and this is the CRAPS!!". A father was bothered about his son, when asked why. He said "he's a chip off the old block and seems to be worthless. Even furniture was reduced in price at Chippendales.

How much chips could a wood ship ship if a wood ship could ship chips?
