That sounds almost as though the suggestion must have had some negative connotation to him so they turned the idea down without thinking. That sounds like a reluctance to look at opportunities. At least it confirmed that the International in their name is a bit like the Global in Globalstar = a bit of self-puffery without a lot of foundation. Globalstar seems to be a bickering bunch of fractious self-interested dogs in the manger. Bernie Shwartz bites if anyone dares to ask a stupid question. It seems to be a struggle for them to co-operate, with a lack of responsiveness to investors being the first symptom. Lack of responsiveness to customers too. Synergy, co-operation, glasnost, mutuality etc don't seem to be words which fit easily. They should study the happy co-operation of SI members for whom mutuality is second nature [other than those fractious, bickering dog in the manger types who bite anyone who asks a stupid question, call each other asinine names etc]. If you want to dig up that response, I'd appreciate it. Leap investors would be interested in how their company responds to opportunity when it walks in the door. Leap Wireless International should be renamed Leap Wireless. There isn't really a need to have ''Americas' or 'Western World', or 'Last 4 Hours of the Day' in the name to identify their limited perspective. Then again, perhaps they have a 'Leap Wireless' subsidiary already and the International shows a broader interest. In any event, the spectrum prices are low and they could make a lot of money since lack of imagination seems to be the main reason the prices are low [together with the usual FUD factors such as whether NZ will actually cease to exist the same as Korea did in 1998 - it amazingly is still there]. I've tried to figure out my motivation. It seems to be complex: I want CDMA to do well I want cheap mobile phones I feel fondness for Leap Wireless I feel I owe them [having made a lot of money from their efforts] I want NZ to do well I want everywhere to do well [if everywhere does well, I do too] I want to feel vindicated that CDMA by Q! is great I don't like waste [things sold too cheaply are often wasted] It's fun to communicate and be part of things [even a messenger] I want to have a CDMA phone and the sooner the better I like Chris Underwood [one of the auction organizers and I want them to have a successful auction] I've sold my shares in Leap, so it isn't that I want Leap to make money for me [I'm sort of glad I sold now - I certainly don't have seller's remorse]. I sold my Leap at $93, well before making the suggestion to them. Since he asked, you might like to pass on my reasons. I wonder why he wondered? Mqurice
