Amazon, Others Liked by Money Manager McNamee, Barron's Reports

Menlo Park, California, Sept. 9 (Bloomberg) -- Amazon.com Inc., BEA Systems Inc., Exodus Communications Inc., PMC-Sierra Inc. and 3Com Corp. are among the favorite stock picks of Roger McNamee, a partner with Integrated Capital Partners in Menlo Park, California, Barron's reported.

McNamee likes Amazon because the Internet retailer has a loyal customer following and strong finances, yet remains undervalued amid Wall Street predictions that consumer sites on the Internet can't make money. 3Com, whose shares have struggled since the March spinoff of its Palm Inc. unit, may be poised for a rebound because of data-networking products that can stream information from the Internet to mobile devices such as cell phones, McNamee told the newspaper.

McNamee also likes Applied Micro Circuits Corp., Extreme Networks Inc., Flextronics International Ltd., ONI Systems Corp., Informatica Corp. and Portal Software Inc., Barron's said.

Flextronics, PMC-Sierra and Applied Micro Circuits all have positions of market leadership in data networking, which McNamee said can translate into better-than-expected earnings, Barron's reported.
