Why the big gap in Mhz then? 400 Mhz? Why not kick in the Willy at 1.2 Ghz and reap big bucks from the increased binsplits? <G>

Intel has some of the best marketers in the industry. Is leaving a 400MHz gap in the consumer product offerings the way to maximize ASP's? Has Intel ever done this in the past?

The only possible other motivation (besides low IPC) I can think of for intel to go to such frequencies would be if they expect the same from AMD.
