BTW clapster,

This guy has been bleeding black & gold for almost 40 years.

Franco's catch was called the IMMACULATE RECEPTION ..... against the Raiders..... December 23, 1972.... One day after my B-day.... it was a 4th down play.... 22 seconds left in the game..... Raiders were winning 7-6..... running back Franco Harris grabbed a pass that bounced off teammate Frenchy Fuqua and Oakland Raiders defensive back Jack Tatum, returning it 40 yards for a touchdown with five seconds remaining. The score gave the Steelers a 13-7 victory over the Raiders in the AFC playoffs..... .... the game was blacked out in Pittsburgh.... my dad & I listened to the game on the radio in the basement..... they didn't make the touchdown call right away.... seemed like it took them forever....... big controversy over who touched the ball.... if Frenchy touched it..... incomplete pass by NFL rules in effect.... & no instant replay either........ when they made the touchdown call, my dad & I jumped up & down & hugged each other over & over..........

Here is a site you & other football fans should like..... it includes the radio play-by-play of the Immaculate Reception & other great NFL moments.....

broadcast.com

Thanks for reminding me of a very special moment in my life..... I lost dad June 11, 1999....... miss him still..... :-|
