If this news release is correct (but beware of the FUD machine on our side), then cdma2000 will be used by two carriers (Freetel will no doubt go cdma2000), including the largest.

According to a government proposal SK Telecom would initially use Qualcomm's technology and then, if it proved commercially unsuccessful, switch to using the Wide Band Code Division Multiple Access standard it, and its two rival bidders for three new phone licenses, have said they want to use.

What is this slant? Face saving?
