The NEC shipments look like the first commercial deployment of a WCDMA system. It will be interesting to see if there will be a corresponding entry in QTL's financial statement this quarter. I hope one of you financial analyst types ask about it during the conference call.

Does anyone know if NEC a QCOM licensee? I tried searching QCOM site for a list of licensees and could not find one. Thanks in advance.

Note - the timing of these shipments fits what Lucent has said about timing of a W-CDMA rollout in Europe - that infrastructure equipment needs to be shipping six months before the promised date of service operation.
