...but since perception is or will become reality it is rather useless for us to complain about the pack mentality but instead we should try to anticipate it and profit from it...... Grasshopper, Where does it end? As if anticipating market direction on fundamentals and technicals isn't hard enough. Trying to determine how the herd will react is even more difficult. Trust me, I spent the last 6 months trying to take that into consideration. Maybe, you will have a better chance at it, beware it could cause you to go crazy even worse broke!<g> I agree with your thoughts...."channeling,voodoo,astrology,tea leaf reading, droughts,moon tides" may all be relative indicators in determining market direction.....but don't spend to much time exploring alternatives to what you know how to do best...is the moral of this story. I know i am replying to myself but maybe that's what this market does to us(ggg)....AT ANY RATE IN THE POST I AM REPLYING to i lamented that i thought the sfam early warning would hurt amat's price ....notwithstanding my reading of the situation i stood pat where wisdom would indicate selling amat at opening at 78 15/16 with a re-acquisition that sameday at 75...........under the theory of fool me once when pria warned last nite i decided to dump my amat this morn at 75 and lo and behold re-acquired same for 72.....i know it is a crazy market but i feel a lot better about what i did today then when i posted amat si #37203 when my feet were stuck in concrete
