BentleyTel C.O.O. John Walsh Signs Contract With Marsman-Drysdale Agribusiness Group for Expansion of BentleyTel Sites

Global TeleMedia International Announced John Walsh Chief Operating Officer Of BentleyTel.com Has Signed a Contract to Provide Telephony And Fax Services to Corporate Offices and 100,000 Employees Of the 10 Marsman-Drysdale Plantations in the Philippines

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., Sept. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Global TeleMedia International (OTC Bulletin Board: GTMI) announced today that, John Walsh, in addition to signing the contract to provide communications to the Marsman-Drysdale Agribusiness group, one of the largest export plantations, also met with officials to pursue an $800 million dollar rural telecommunications project announced by the Philippine Department of Transport and Communications, (DOTC). The project recently announced by Rolando Borbo, Technical Assistant to the Telecommunications Office, confirmed the project has already been approved by the Economic Coordinating Council (ECC). The project seeks to provide modern communications to 41,000 towns, only 10% of which currently have telephones. John Walsh and David Bentley, who are currently visiting the Philippines and Australia to coordinate the roll out of the BentleyTel networks have completed an inspection of the new sites and had meetings with the major carriers.

COO John Walsh said, "Examining all potential contracts and many expansion opportunities is part of our planning and strategy. We met with the US Embassy Commercial Attache, Robert Bannerman, Commercial Counselor, Bob Blum, and Senior Commercial Specialist, Aida Miranda together with officials of the Mindanao Business Council to brief them on the BentleyTel expansion plans. The officials agreed to give their full support to the BentleyTel drive into rural telecommunications. In fact BentleyTel has the largest rural wireless TeleCenter network in the Southern Philippines."

He continued, "I believe the developed countries underestimate the growth and revenue potential in the Pacific Rim countries. For example, the Marsman-Drysdale workers are extremely well paid and are in the middle income bracket, affording them a high percentage of disposable income. Many hi-tech companies, for example Microsoft, Lucent, QUALCOMM, Sun Microsystems and leading computer companies such as Acer manufacture in the Pacific Rim. BentleyTel is leading the way, however, some companies such as Ericsson and Lucent Technologies are also realizing the untapped potential.

In a recent article, Michael Butcher, President of International operations for Lucent Technologies said, "The build-out of the latest technology is unprecedented. It is bigger than even the experts predicted. Around $1 trillion is expected to be spent on hardware, software and services. It took 100 years to connect 700 million people to a phone, it will only take 10-15 years to double that. We live in a space with over $1 trillion worth of capital to be spent on telecommunications. In the 21st century most business and commerce will involve communications, InfoTech industry and computer industries."

Lucent figures show that there are 200 million wireless subscribers worldwide and that number will grow to 700 million in only the next 15 years. Asia alone will equal 50% of the total US wireless subscribers this year. 95% of BentleyTel TeleCenters now operate on GSM digital wireless.

Because of the growth and aggressive expansion plans of BentleyTel, Ericsson (Nasdaq: ERICY) Australia has offered BentleyTel a partnership and John Walsh intends to meet with Ericsson senior management and execute this agreement before returning to the USA.

In its expansion BentleyTel will take advantage of the reduction of import tax on telecom equipment already approved by the ECC as these will reduce installations costs.

John Walsh and David Bentley, VP for Business Development, while in Australia, will confirm the status of rollout of the national network. The major cities of Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide and Darwin are complete and the entire national network is expected to be live by September 30th. Many ISP's have already signed agreements, which should increase the BentleyTel client base by 1,000% by the end of 2000. With our Internet Telephony Service Provider (ITSP) network, we will dramatically reduce calling costs and offer enhanced services. "It's either join BentleyTel.com or pay too much." The live network will also trigger an increase in services under its 5-year Government contract and dramatically increase the monthly payments by the Government.

President Jonathon Bentley-Stevens said, "This will be the most exciting quarter in the history of the company. Not only will new management hold its first shareholders meeting, but prior to the meeting we will have at least two major agreements executed, a major marketing agreement for sales and distribution of the Smart-e-Card(TM), and other multi-national agreements involving our Australian National Network. It has been a year of hard work and growth that is not always visible to our shareholders and investors.

To assist Shareholders, GTMI has negotiated with Pan Pacific Travel for flight and accommodation discounts for the shareholders meeting. Pan Pacific Travel has agreed to offer the lowest fare or will discount the lowest published fare by 5%.
