What happens if....

1) Microsoft buys Handspring (and Mr. Softee does have enough cash to take out this company), or RIMM, or one of the international players? How does the competitive landscape change?

2) What if consumers demand more from their PDA's? (i.e., memory, color, applications, etc.)? How does this impact Palm? Carl has indicated that consumers simply want simplicity in their PDA, not PC-like applications. What if he is wrong? Is their any recourse, or will it be too late in the PDA development process?

3) What if Sony/Handspring/every other Palm licensee take more and more hardware market share away from Palm? The licensee hardware sales aren't being equallyy compensated by O/S sales.
