The cop I was referring to was the cop I rode with in New Orleans when I was in law school, the one who subdued the crazy guy and we took him to the psych ward at Charity . I didn't realize that the cop who plugged the guy in the case you were talking about was a woman. Sounds like she panicked and overreacted.

I firmly believe that people who play competitive sports, especially team sports like football and basketball in high school and college have an advantage in learning to control their emotions. Same with people who have been in the military, and with people who have been trained in the martial arts. Fear and panic quickly turn to rage in a pressure situation unless you've been trained to remain detached. Good police training should include that training.

I want to look for a recipe by accessing a newsgroup rec.food.recipes and requesting assistance but I don't know how to access newsgroups. I know you do, so could you, or anyone else, tell me, please? Thanks.
