As long as we are giving our opinions.... I currently am a member of the trading room and I find their service to be timely and profitable most of the time. There is a wide variety of traders in the room from seasoned vets who are looking for timely alerts to inexperienced rookies who basically want to be told exactly when to buy and when to sell.

No service can tell you which stocks to buy before they rocket up each and every time. However, expert chart reading and valuable trading experience, as possessed by both Jerry and Jenna, can be invaluable in determining if a stock's run up or down could or should continue. What more could you ask for???????? In the end, you yourself must be responsible for your own trading investments.

If I were to complain about anything, it may be that it is sometimes hard to track all the issues mentioned during the day. Between the watchlists and the daily mentions, one can get easily overwhelmed. Overall, I have made some good profits from the stocks that J&J have covered and I have also lost money as well. So far, the wins have outnumbered the losses, so I am satisfied....for the time being!!

P.S. The only other thing I find uncomfortable about the trading room is trying to listen to Jerry talk with his mouth full of Oreo cookies......LOL

Thanks for letting me voice my small opinion

Another lurker: Over the 2 years I have had a subscription for Market Gems I have learned a lot and at the beginning also profited financially. I have great respect for Jenna and was often impressed by her sincerity and generosity.
My observation is that the change in Jenna's and the thread's approach to trading towards more and more momentum and short term trading oriented trading has lead to more confusion, diminished returns, and an increase of claiming positive calls "after the fact". It is very difficult to get a clear picture which "calls" have worked, what is just a "watch", which stocks are very short term, short term, day trades etc...
I remember the time when Jenna did not like "shorting" or made recommendations for a longer term hold. Obviously the market has changed and some of the developments on this thread and at Market Gems/Pristine reflect the different trading environment.
Because I am not a day trader I was hoping that I could profit from Jenna's recommendations for stocks to hold for a 2 to 4 week period and/or 2 to 3 month period. Unfortunately this expectation has not been realized. It is impossible to get a clear picture what stocks Jenna holds in her longer term portfolios. Sometimes an advancing stock is mentioned on the thread and Jenna's reply is that she holds it in her's or her husband's portfolio but it was never mentioned before and it does not become clear when it was accumulated or when it would be sold. My suggestion is that Market Gems would create 2 portfolios - one for a 2 to 4 week and one for 2 to 3 month holding period, which would be commented on and updated on a weekly basis. Those would be stocks which would adhere to Market Gems premise of having strong fundamentals and excellent upswing potential. For example "the Gorilla Portfolio" allows you to track the performance ot its stock selection.
Unfortunately as a Mac user I was unable to participate in the free trial of the "trading room" or to subscribe to it now. So I hope that Jenna has enough time and energy left to initiate a "medium term" portfolio.
Best wishes
dejavu

Jenna: Why is the watch list only days before the earnings date ? I am a current subscriber of your list. Can't your scan pick up the TA at least several weeks before the earning date ? I have noticed that in numerous occassions, stock on list have been accumulated and gone up weeks before the announcement date ? That doesn't give me much margin to play with ? Thanks in advance for your answers..

MAXM, given to the thread on Thursday has moved well on Friday. I also like ICN another pharmaceutical company I've held as a position trade after the last earnings report. Might be good for another run. The chart is very good. I've been asked about some short term trades, and I've already mentioned on numerous occasions that I have been holding pharmaceutical companies for the last 3 or 4 weeks and have unloaded them last Firday the first of september and have slowly gotten back into the fold with CELG, VRTX GILD BIOI BPUR and ALXN. I'd be watching BRL and FRX for more upside and KG looks like it might begin to move after an upgrade on Friday.

At this time I'd steer clear of swing or position trades in technology secor.
The education sector was on fire from the time of earnings for CECO to ALSI LTRE and latest COCO. The sector was downgraded on valuation but that doesn't prevent a new wave of moves to the upside after this correction.

BEAV, earnings play for Thursday September 14. The company has been moving fabulously even though earnings are slated to slack off this quarter but return next quarter at full force. I would be watching BEAV for a return to the 20's. Its currently a bit overbought but could pull back by Thursday

Wow!...the heartaches when the (chips) fall, but boy, when Rome is near built, lots of high slappin fives!

So, some folks are frustrated, getting mixed signals on calls that are after the fact...

and nothing more frustrating to see credit taken for a call on a watchlist and/or earnings play from weeks ago...

nothing more frustrating than staring at watchlists and earning plays, hundreds of em...only to do nothing...

nothing more frustrating to see that stock run...without me...

and the arrogance of some, oh so frustrating...

those frustrations, damned you!

been there, done that, gonna do it all again...

the flipside...it's nice to know someone else appreciates Oreo cookies as much as I do!!!!

Oh yea...learned a bunch from the MG'ers as a member and prior to, as lurker. Though no longer a member, just want to give thanx to all for my understanding of momentum trading, when to let em run, when to hit and run..and thanx for a perpective into the traders' mind...what it means to follow trends (hey bulls, are we in a bear market?)...to trade or not to trade noise...to understand what triggers...to accept losses as much as i don't want to...to understand patience, of which, I have none!...and just when ya think ya understand something YOUR way, meet Mr. Paradigm shift...!

Taking the wl's and ep's for what they are,,, balancing them with the trend!...how many times has it been stressed the importance of the bigger picture, the flow, where's the mojo, sector movement...isn't it interesting that stocks magically by the flip of a switch move in concert, yes, a sour note here and there...

taking the wl's and ep's and narrow em down to what my hand can comfortably hold...and focusing on em, forget the rest...and balance it against the biggger picture!

takes time to build a city,,,and it's darned sure gonna take a hell of a lot longer for me to build my empire than it took for Rome..!

party on dudes, dudettes!
