China is finally in CDMA

I am an insider of CDMA in China. I live at Beijing. I saw the revised version of the Unicom CDMA deployment master
plan. It calls for a 40 million users network, starting next January.

The Unicom equipment bidding process will be in force in October. Unicom Chairman, Mr. Yang Xianzu will visit Korea
next week until September 24.

The only thing unknown is which day Unicom has to announce the big news. It probably will not happen next week, but
later this month.

On September 7, the Chinese government issued a final ruling that for the 1900 MHz, no more PHS systems can be
deployed anymore from now on. The frenquency of WLLs will be reserved by China Telecom for the CDMA mode.

I expect USTI stock price to fall next week due to the PHS decision. That will be a sad week for the Japanese standard,
but a happy time for Americans.

You lucky Americans!
