Doesn't quite carry the 'punch' as words that Voltaire himself is so 'artful' with ... at least he was when I first started reading this board in February of this year ... He so artfully creates images of 'boomers running around with their fingers in the air" ... down the Yellow Brick road ... LOL ... anybody remember that one? Reason I joined SI. I see some sort of 'double standard' manifest in this 'culture' here ... as I wrote Tom via PM this morning... Will remind all that I 'tested the limits' regarding this board's 'profanity' tolerance using George Carlin's "Seven Words You'll Never Hear on TV" in a 'civil disobedience' manner ... remember? Tom has posted publicly that HE 'loves the dude.' George Carlin. To try to make some 'sense' out of what was 'allowable' here on the Porch ... and what was not. What was (and perhaps remains?) so confusing, is that Tom himself is 'allowed' to 'cuss' ... yet others are not. And is 'allowed' to use some very demeaning description of women who in fact, are like, his own age. I don't particularly myself want to be 'relegated' to the 'field' of discussing cute animal behavior all day long ... I love animals myself, believe me -- bird feeders, dogs and the like ... 'acceptable' female 'chatter' on this board. Further, because I AM female, I highly resent having to endure remarks that women in their 60s, right Tom? Such as that 'radical feminist,' Gloria Steinem, have no real reason to be alive anymore, as they've 'lost their looks.' Isn't this your 'line,' Tom? Part of your 'life philosophy?' As well as your investment philosophy? "Watch out for those women ... will steal ya blind during the ultimate margin call <g> ... divorce?" No need to answer if you so choose, obviously. 'b-i-a' ###
