He did have ideas that the people liked. I never cared for him myself. I think if McCain did go on the campaign trail and promote Bush it would help Bush and really help McCain shine in the future.

McCain's walking a fine line. He absolutely doesn't want Bush elected. If Bush is elected that the end of the presidential road for him - too old. Still he can't hurt Bush too blatantly or he'll turn the rest of the party against him.

I don't trust McCain. He's a walking time bomb.

McCain is more conservative than Dubya. The only reason why I would support him is as a president he will do best for the country (republicans, democrats and others alike): his agendas will not be driven by RR or anyother special interests - precisely the reason why Republican party establishment waged a battle against him. He can stand on his own. Dubya cannot. He is a wimp. Likewise, despite many flaws Al Gore has, he can stand up to his party if he has to (on smaller scale than McCain). He has done it many occasions in the past.
