Frank, Didn't take any criticisms of the technology or design to heart. We just respond to customer needs as best as they can define them and as we can accomodate them. Should say that these are not official Corning comments, just mine. Should also way that there are several patents for BW limiters. I am not aware of any others that were field tested. The truth of the matter is that my BW limiter is just a dispersion compensator running backwards. Telcos have a difficult problem, new business models leading to the leasing of "dark wavelengths" will strip the telco "price for service model" of any lasting value. No way to stop it that I can see. David
