Hammer: You might well be right. But the point is this: 91 percent of the dollars from the sector of society known as "business/labor" are being funneled to congressmen/women who will support the causes of business, whether small or medium or large. And guess what, if you're "pro-chamber of commerce," that's a euphemism for being "anti-labor." Only 9% goes of this pie goes to causes or people who represent the working man/woman. The rest goes to fat-cat congressmen who support permanent striker replacements, pension grabs, cuts in Workers' Compensation, on and on.And are we trying to rein in business contributions? No. Can't do that. That's protected under "free speech," Mitch McConnell and George Will argue from their mansions. Are we trying to rein in labor contributions through dues check-off and the like? Yes. This doesn't add up. Does this add up to you?

Why don't we quit worrying about labor so much and start worrying more about who's next after Bridgestone/Firestone.
