No, but the owner wouldn't own the security if he hadn't paid for it. The parallel between union and corporate political spending is closer than you make out IMO. Remember shareholders own the company and every dollar a corporation spends on anything is shareholder money.

What if a corporation, as a condition of employment forced their employees to contribute to a fund.

These are called PAC's - political action committees - and some companies lean on employees (usually executives) to contribute.
