Well certainly clock skew is only fixed if you do not know much and you don't. But I'll buy your statement that latch delays are fixed for specific processes.

My statement was "Clock skew and latch delays are fixed, regardless of pipeline depth." A fairly rudimentary understanding of how pipelines work should make this understandable, even to non-technical posters.

By the way you do not know that the PIII is more expensive than the P4. You are just guessing as usual!

This topic was discussed quite a bit already on SI, but you seem to have missed it. According to Inquest, P4 will intro at $695 and 1.13GHz PIII will be $900+ at the same time.
