Carbon is a pretty stable atom. I'd love to have the half life of carbon. Do diamonds (compressed carbon) decay?

FYI, diamonds are thermodynamically unstable at room temperature and atmospheric pressure.. they'll revert back to graphite in a hundred thousand years or so..
