Good lord!

Here's my mother's recipe for creamed shrimp with provolone sauce:

1. Make a light cream sauce -- butter, flour, salt and pepper to taste

2. Grate some provolone into the warm cream sauce and blend it until very smooth --- add a few spoons full of sherry or madeira.

3. Add some mushrooms (canned, fresh, dried)

4. Add some cooked shelled shrimp -- the bigger the better

grate a little nutmeg on the top.

Serve on toast or (even better) long-grain white rice.
