Judging from your post, I take you to be an intelligent
investor who looks at both sides of the coin before calling "heads or tails". It is difficult to take an informed position based on fundamental research of global macro conditions when the agendas of governments and media seek to manipulate the money flow through propaganda and biased reporting. It is the liquidity of the masses which allow ill-informed managers to gamble away "other people's money". By priming the money pump with his coupon passes,
repos, et al; the grand treasurer has floated this market
with his "save the world" (read friends) actions at the expense of the next generation's welfare. This pompous
Dr. Irwin Corey has managed to ingrain himself into the public realm as some kind of everyman's favorite uncle
when in retrospect will go down in history as the orchestrator of the biggest stock collapse ever perpetrated
on an uninformed and spoiled society this world has ever seen.

Maybe the forthcoming energy panic this winter will finally tip the scales of the money manipulators. It will be ironic though that it will be OPEC that will be blamed and not the failure of the US from having an energy policy in place. Since energy is the one area where supply and demand cannot be manipulated by our esteemed leaders and their pack of paid off media hacks, this scenario seems most likely.
A less likely but just as uncontrolled scenario is the Euro currency crisis unfolding. With derivative players
hedged for a Euro resurgence and none forthcoming, a domino
collapse in swap spreads could freeze the credit markets and
cause equities to fall now that would have occurred with LTCM two(?) years ago had the Fed not bailed them out. It's
great to have friends in high places to erase your mistakes and your markers. Like playing in a casino who allows you to keep on playing no matter how much you lose until you finally win. A rigged game for an utterly ignorant and naive
public unless you're one of the few connected power players
in the world who gets to keep his wealth no matter how much you lose or who gets hurt in the process. Who's playing Nero here, Mr.Magoo or Bubba?

Watch the Euro. If it isn't supported soon, all global equities tank. If it is supported, then the US dollar gets whacked and we tank as Europe bails out here.

Be nimble,

BR
