T, Sorry to hear about the rotator. I know zilch about recovering from injury as I have never had one. Here is the best piece I've seen about specific shoulder exercises, though it could really use some pictures giving the oddity of using different degrees of posture at different points in the exercise. However, is it any good for somebody with damage? I don't know.

My usual answer is that all muscles are much more hooked together than we think (go to an autopsy some time and it soon becomes obvious) and that specific training isn't that valuable, as you can't use enough weight. With that in mind, the barbell side or bent press, one-handed is an outstanding and safe builder of the deltoid and all the supporting muscles. If you do one exercise, that is the one I'd recommend.
