The hours are a lot longer than 40 per. I know a Captain on the force and he's on sometimes as long as two weeks straight. Undercover can last for months and can be dangerous.

In those days I loved being outdoors and was nuts about hunting and fishing. Now I'm happy staying inside.

I'm with you. I got real tired of 9 to 9 when I was in retail. Some people need the structure of a time clock. Sue would go nuts without the regular hours. Then again some love their jobs so much that having 9 to 5 hours keeps them from working all the time. My dad loved selling suits so much that after he retired he'd wander into a store and start selling without being hired or paid. He sold a lot of suits that way.
