John, great find. NTAP doesn't even have that announcement on their web site!!

EDIT: In fact, I can't find this announcement anywhere.

I note that the new version of ONTAP OS is not going to be released for a few weeks. That's a surprise! DW said last month that it would be "next week". I guess he blew it. I'll be the developers were and QA folks were real happy with him!

We will be hearing a lot of FUD about the the 840 filer, since the OS is late. Keep in mind, also that this new machine, though now the high end of the product line, is the mid-range of the new 800 series. We will see an 860 and an 830 and perhaps an 820.

Then next summer we have the new clustering technology that the 800's will support via VI.

Let the games begin!

Dear John: I reiterate DS's thanks for posting the article. It's not over at Yahoo! either yet.

BTW, you and someone on the CPQ thread are the only people I know of here at SI that might be familiar with (and possibly hold shares of as well as be customers of) PPL. Geez, it's been on a roll lately. It and my other "boring" utility are even leaving NTAP in the dust:

Turn on more lights!

Best regards,

Lynn
