"consider chopping wood for fuel"

I've been reading this in several places recently, and as a tree lover I hope it's just tongue-in-cheek stuff. Unfortunately, that's less than clear.

When the popular refrain changes to "consumers should consider ways to reduce their energy consumption" it MAY signal a turn. Right now, however, the attitudes of North American consumers and their leaders will assure that this situation will continue along its current path - as has been well documented on this thread.

This OPEC stuff has been fun (?) but I suspect there are only one or two rounds of it left that the market will even take seriously.

It's the DEMAND, and few still acknowledge this in their hopes for a quick and easy resolution to years of underinvestment which are now compounded by the prospect that the U.S. lose their monopoly over worldwide economic growth.

I'm in agreement with those who feel that a significant inflation breakout is nearing. Have been looking at PM mining stocks recently and find HGMCY the most interesting at this point - have a look. For those who want exposure but not the research burden, ASA may be a good vehicle trading at an 18% discount to its NAV.

Best wishes to all.
